SEELEY FUNERAL IN TOLEDO FRIDAY

Toledo, Ill., Nov. 25. – Funeral services for William Seeley, Toledo Civil War veteran who passed away at 6:35 o’clock Tuesday morning, will be conducted at 11 o’clock Friday morning from the United Brethren church, with Rec. Scott Padrick officiating. Burial will be in Toledo cemetery.

Mr. Seeley’s death came after a two weeks’ illness from pneumonia.

Mr. Seeley was born in Cumberland county on Dec. 25, 1844, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Seeley. He married Miss Sarah Jane Adams on Aug. 17, 1865. She died April 26, 1890.

He leaves nine children, John Seeley of Lerna, Jonas and Alvin Seeley of Decatur, Mrs. Florence Stallings and Mrs. Ella M. White of the state of Washington, Ira Seeley of Mattoon, Robert Seeley of Bushton and Mrs. Emma Stark and Mrs. Martha Stierwalt of Toledo.

During the Civil War Mr. Seeley saw service three years in Company A of the Fifth Illinois Volunteer Cavalry and was wounded twice, first in the Battle of Moundsville, Miss., and later in an encounter near Jackson, Miss.

Mr. Seeley was a member of the United Brethren church, the Odd Fellows and the G.A.R. post of Toledo, once serving as commander.
