Afton Deward Seeley, 96, passed away May 28, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born September 28, 1914 in Castle Dale, UT to Marion Carlos and Laura Hansen Seeley. Enjoyed the years of his youth in Bluebell, UT. Married his eternal sweetheart Edna Naomi Jensen June 21, 1941. Sealed as a family in the Salt Lake Temple February 8, 1952. Together they raised their family in Sugarhouse, UT. Edna preceded him in death April 4, 1979. Afton was blessed with 31 years of love and sweet companionship when he married Barbara Leona Rowland on June 6, 1980 in the Salt Lake Temple. Afton served in the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) during the depression years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy stationed in the Pacific at Okinawa. Welder and diesel mechanic by trade, he operated Seeley Tractor and Welding until retiring at the age of 85. Enjoyed bowling, golf and time with his family. Hunting, fishing and travel provided lifetime enjoyment and many stories to be shared. Afton was a kind, loving and patient man. Survived cancer and handled the challenges of life with great dignity. Enjoyed a fine breakfast with quality bacon and could be spotted polishing off a Sunday dinner at Little America. Survived son James Deward Seeley (Sharon); daughter Laura Floy Wagstaff (Jerald); eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Welcomed home by wife Edna, loving parents, brothers Francis, Movell, Wallace and Jack, sister Betty Lou and many friends.
