Wakefield – Amanda Lynn Seeley, 19, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 in Isle of Wright County, Va. Born April 16, 1984 in Petersburg, Va., she was the daughter of Wayne Autry Seeley and Kimberly Haywood Seeley of Wakefield. Amanda was salutatorian of her senior class of 2002 of Tidewater Academy and a rising sophomore at East Carolina University where she was a Chancellor’s List student. She was a member of Wakefield United Methodist Church and loved singing in the choir with her many church friends.

Besides her parents, she is survived her sister, Melissa Ann Seeley of Conway, S.C.; her maternal grandmother, Barbara Haywood of Ivor, Va.; and many loving relatives and friends. Her maternal grandfather, Howard Haywood and paternal grandparents, Ralph and Lucille Seeley, predeceased her.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at the Wakefield United Methodist Church, Wakefield, with the Rev. G.C. Branton III officiating. Interment will follow in the Wakefield Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at the church social hall from 7 until 9 p.m. memorial donations may be made to the Wakefield UMC Memorial Fund, Wesley Foundation of East Carolina University, East Fifth St., Greenville, NC 27858 or Tidewater Academy, Wakefield. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
