A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 29 at the Foothills Unitarian Church. A potluck lunch will follow.

Arlene Seeley was born April 23, 1922, in Morganville, Kan.

She graduated from Emporia State Teachers College in Scandia, Kan., where she met her husband, Robert Neil Seeley at a college dance.

The couple was married in 1942 just before he left to fight in World War II. They settled in Wichita and had three children. They moved to Fort Collins in 1993 after living in Denver for 32 years.

She loved life, the ocean, poetry, music, the full moon and life's inherent humor. A lifelong appreciation of gardening and flowers and a penchant for breaking family traditions and creating new ones endeared her to her friends and neighbors. Children were always attracted to her because she treated them with love, respect and humor she was everyone's grandmother.

She was a member of the Foothills Unitarian Church and wished everyone to savor the glory of each brief day.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 59 years, Robert of Fort Collins two sons, Mitchell Seeley of Denver and Neil Seeley of Durango a daughter, Janet Seeley of Fort Collins three grandchildren, two nieces, one nephew and their families.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Foothills Unitarian Church, 1815 Yorktown Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80526, or to the American Cancer Society.
