Betty J. Gladstone Seeley

SEELEY - Betty J. (Gladstone), aged 85, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Ada, Saginaw and Newaygo, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2007. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary; brother, Jack; brother-in-law, Dennis; and her husband of 65 years, Louie. She is survived by her children, Wendy Thomas (Richard Beaver) of Florida, Greg (Marcia) Seeley of Ada, and Lucinda Graves of Colorado; grandchildren, Brady, Wesley, Nathan (Tonya), Heather, Ashley, Kellen and Emily; brother, David of Florida; sisters-in-law, Patricia Gladstone, Sharon (Ken) Fox, MaryLou Gladstone; brother-in-law, Darold (Dolores) Seeley; and many nieces and nephews. Betty attended South High School, where she met her husband, Louie. She worked at Gladstone Shoe Store for many years. She greatly enjoyed her volunteer service with the Ladies' Auxiliary of the American Legion Post, Newaygo, MI, serving as president for two consecutive terms, but even more she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who all enjoyed her entertaining personality. Per her wishes, the family will be holding a graveside ceremony for Betty and her husband, Louie, who passed away October 28, 2006, on Friday April 13 at 1 p.m. at the Cascade Township Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Betty and Louie's life at Snow United Methodist Church following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered for the Barbara Armstrong Scholarship Fund at the American Legion Aux. 381, Croton-Hardy Dr., Newaygo, MI, or a charity of your choice.
