C. Ernest Seeley

Constantine, July 24. – C. Ernest Seeley, well-known retried St. Joseph County farmer and resident of this village for the past 20 years died at his home on White Pigeon street at 3:30 o’clock this morning of a heart ailment. He had been in ill health for some years.

Mr. Seeley was born in Fabius township 77 years ago, a son of Clark P. and Dolly (Beadle) Seeley, and has spent his life a resident of the county. He retired and moved to Constantine 20 years ago.

He was united in marriage to Ann Wager at Cassopolis in April 1889. Mrs. Seeley preceded him in death in June of 1930, a daughter Mrs. Eva Permeter died in January 1938.

He was a member of the Constantine M.E. church and of the Modern Woodmen Society of America.

Survivors are a son, Ray Seeley of Constantine, a sister Mrs. Flora Barnes of Three Rivers, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held from the Geisler Funeral home at 2:30 o’clock Thursday afternoon, Rev. E.E. Price of Constantine M.E. church officiating. Interment will be at Constantine. The body will lie in state at the family home on White Pigeon street until afternoon of the services.
