Mr. Charles G. Seeley, 88, Good Samaritan Home, Quincy, died Monday morning at 10:12 a.m., in the home.

He was born May 11, 1915, in Adams County, the son of Floyde Eldon and Ella Cordelia (Wagy) Seeley. He married Ione Elva Marshall June 19, 1939, at Nashua, Iowa, in "The Little Brown Church in the Vale". She preceded him in death Nov. 15, 1999. He married Martha Cunningham Bybee Feb. 3, 2001, in the chapel of the Good Samaritan Home, Quincy. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons, Guy D. (Judy) Seeley, Roseville, and Dwight C. (Barbara) Seeley, Quincy; one stepson, Bronson Bybee; six grandchildren, Todd A. (DuAnne) Seeley, Madison, Ala., Christine (Dan) Ostrander, Phoenix, Ariz., Douglas A. (Julie) Seeley, Elmwood; Trenton M. (Becki) Seeley, Quincy, Paula (Tony) Wardlow, Camp Point, and Laura A. Seeley, Quincy; three step-grandchildren, Christopher Gibbons, Timothy (Jennifer) Gibbins, and Robert Gibbons, Lincoln, Neb.; six great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Lee Hollembeak, Quincy; two nieces, Mrs. Oliver Loos, Jr. and Mrs. Charla Snowden, Quincy; one nephew, Mark A. Hollembeak, Flagstaff, Ariz.; three great-nieces; and three great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and his parents.

He lived in Plainville and Payson, moving to Quincy in 1949. He attended Payson High School, class of 1934, attended Culver-Stockton College, 1934-35, graduated Gem City Business College in 1938.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in US Navy, 1943-46 as Yeoman 1st Class. He served in Farragut, Idaho and New Caledonia.

He was employed by Calcium Carbonate Co., (J.M. Huber), 42 years retiring in 1980 as purchasing manager. After retirement, he was a limited sales representative for Modern Printing Co., retiring in 1983. He owned Jean & John Shop, 1965-75.

He was a former member of the YMCA Male Chorus, Vermont Street U.M. Church choir, charter member of SPEBSQSA (Barbershop chorus), and Vermont Street Quartet Club, (served as president and secretary). He was a charter member of "Golden K" Kiwanis Club and served on the boards of Vermont Street U.M. Church, Sunset Home and Good Samaritan Home. He was cubmaster for Cub Scouts in Payson, 1947-48 and served on Boy Scout Troop 9 committees at Vermont Street U.M. Church.

He was a member of Lambert Lodge, Shriners, Hi-12 and Uncle Sam's of Good Samaritan Home.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. in Vermont Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Alberts officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Vermont Street United Methodist Church, Good Samaritan Home, Sunset Home or charity of the donor's choice.
