CHESTER “CHET” RAYMOND SEELEY

Goshen, N.Y.

Chester “Chet” Raymond Seeley of Goshen, died Friday, July 27, 2001, in Arden Hill Hospital. He was 90.

The son of the late Essie Mae Carpenter and William Merrill Seeley, he was born Jan 1_, 1911, in Middletown.

Chet was a proud graduate of Middletown High School class of 1932. He married Eleanor Brown on Dec. 31, 1934, in Middletown. He worked for the Dairyman’s League for 18-years. From 1954-64, he owned and operated Seeley’s Laundromat with his wife, Eleanor, Chet worked as a guard for Country National Bank in Middle town from 1964-68. In 1977, he retired from the City of Clearwater, Fla. after a 10-year stay as traffic engineer. He was a member of Elks Club #1097, a 56-year member of Monhagen Hose Co., Yankee Lake Assoc., Webb Horton Church, and United Commercial Travelers.

He was the widower of his first wife, Eleanor.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Cady Seeley of Goshen; three sons, Edmund M. and his wife, Carolyn, Chester Raymond Jr. and his wife, Naomi, all of Yankee Lake, Geary and his wife, Diane of Slate Hill; six grandchildren, David and his wife, Janna, Heather, Kenny, Karen Shoemaker and her husband, Wayne, Geary Seeley Jr. and his wife, Cindy, and Theresa Seeley; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 30, at the funeral home.

Following cremation, interment will be in the family plot in Hillside Cemetery, Middletown.
