CLAYTON SEELEY

Clayton Seeley, a life-time resident of the Cardinal area, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville. He was 88.

He was born April 19, 1914 in Rowena, Ontario, the son of David Seeley and Sarah Hess. He married Pearl Simpson Feb. 20, 1936 in Iroquois.

Mr. Seeley had been employed as a pipefitter at CASCO for more than 37 years. He was a member of the United church and a member of the seniors' club. His interests included hobby farming, playing cards, gardening, fishing and feeding stray animals. Mr. Seeley also enjoyed his pipe and other refreshments, and sitting on the verandah watching the traffic and waving to those who drove by.

He is survived by his children: Agnes (Mrs. Ken Boyd) of RR 3 Prescott, Bill (Barb), Frank (Nina), Gerald (Lynne) and Dale (Marianne), all of Cardinal. He will be sadly missed by 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Pearl, son Nelson Aden, brothers Mahlon, Coleman and Douglas, and by grandson Alan Boyd.

Friends called at Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home, Cardinal, where the funeral was held Friday, Dec. 27, 2002 at 11 am, with Rev. Arlyce Schiebout officiating. Interment was at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland.

The pallbearers were Martin Stobo, Alex Seeley, Greg Seeley, Norm Plume, Peter Boyd, Don MacLeod.
