Clifton E. “Gene” Seeley, Jr

South Glens Falls: Clifton "Gene" Seeley Jr., 69, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 16, 1939 in Hudson Falls he was the son of Clifton and Geraldine (Wescott) Seeley Sr.

Gene started his long career with MetLife in 1968. Over the years he participated in several trips to the leader's conference for being a consistent high performer. He loved outdoor activities such as camping in Newcomb with the Newcomb Boys and Indian Lake, cruising with his family or enjoying a 40-year tradition of annual family trips to Old Orchard Beach. There he would have early morning coffee on the water. Gene liked to prepare for winter by cutting his wood and enjoyed filling the holidays with family tradition.

His mother Geraldine Seeley, two brothers Russell and Thomas Seeley, and also a nephew Michael Seeley predeceased Gene. Survivors include his wife Leona (Miner) Seeley of Moreau, his father Clifton E. Seeley Sr., a daughter Terry Moon and her fiancé Norman Himes of South Glens Falls, a son Jeffrey Seeley of Fort Edward, a daughter Connie Himes and her fiancé Dr. Richard Long of Queensbury, a brother Terry Seeley and his wife Kathy of Fort Edward, a brother Timothy Seeley and his wife Maryann of Lake George, a sister Beverly Hall of South Glens Falls, several grandchildren, Reagan Moon, Tyler Moon, Kurt Seeley and his wife Diane of Queensbury, Rachel 'Darlin' and Noah Himes of Queensbury, great grandchildren Karsin and Adrianna Moon and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Regan and Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, New York. Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, October 10, 2008 at the funeral home.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Joseph D’Agostino, Dr. Orlando Martelo and all the healthcare workers at the Glens Falls Hospital. Furthermore, thanks to Dana Farber Cancer Institute for all their support throughout Genes illness. The family would like to acknowledge the Moreau Emergency Squad for their kind and gentle care.
