GLENS FALLS -- Clifton E. Seeley, Sr., 88, of the Cronin High Rise in Glens Falls, went into the arms of the Lord on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008.

Born on April 13, 1920, in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Clifton I. and Clara (Washburn) Seeley.

He attended Hudson Falls Central School and received certifications from many schools relating to the installation of heating systems.

On Nov. 26, 1938, he married Geraldine Wescott at the United Methodist Church in Hudson Falls. Geraldine died in 1995.

He worked for many fuel oil companies in the area and retired from Mabb Oil Co. as a service technician.

Mr. Seeley and his wife were founding members of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Glens Falls. He served there as superintendent of Sunday School, as well as a teacher. He was a man of great faith.

He was an avid baseball player with the Glens Falls Independents for many years, where he was known as Tubby. He and his brothers also played in many softball leagues in the area. Mr. Seeley was also an avid bowler.

He enjoyed taking his family to fairs, fireworks and parades and on trips to Maine. His biggest joy in life was attending family functions.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Clifton E. "Gene" Seeley Jr., Thomas A. Seeley, Russell Seeley, his grandson, Michael R. Seeley, and his son-in-law, Timothy Hall.

Survivors include his sons, Terry R. Seeley and his wife, Kathie, of Fort Edward and Timothy A. Seeley and his wife, Maryann, of Lake George; his daughter, Beverly J. Hall, of Fort Edward; his two daughters-in-law, Leona Seeley, of Gansevoort and Suzanne Glebus, of Warrensburg; his grandchildren, Terry Moon and her fiance, Norman Himes, Jeffery Seeley, Connie Himes and her fiancé, Dr. Richard Long, Scott Seeley and his wife, Cindy, Stephanie Norton, Vanessa Seeley, Timothy Seeley, Jr., Brian Seeley and his wife, Amber, Gregory Seeley, Melissa Harrington and her husband, Jeremy, and Matthew Hall; his great grandchildren, Kurt Seeley and his wife, Diane, Reagan Moon, Tyler Moon, Rachel Himes, Noah Himes, Heather Seeley, Kayleigh Harrington, and David Harrington; his great-great-grandchildren, Carson Moon and Adrianna Moon; his brothers and sisters, Robert Seeley and his wife, Marge, of Queensbury, Eleanor Eggleston of Fort Edward, Virginia Rainbow and her husband, Paul, of Pennsylvania and Gerald Seeley, of Moreau; his brother in law, Rod Ward and his wife, Marie, of Fort Ann; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by a special friend, Jan Hall, of Queensbury.

Friends may call today from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in the Moss Street Cemetery in the town of Kingsbury.
