Donald A. Seeley Sr., 86, of 176 Bank St., North East, PA, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2005 at his residence. He was born on October 13, 1918 in Ripley, NY, a son of the late Clyde A. and Hattie Thorp Seeley. Don had worked as a dairy and poultry farmer on the home-stead farm until 1968, operated the Seeley Country Store in Findley Lake from 1973 until 1976, was a Director of Chautauqua Patrons Association from 1952 until his retirement, was an agent for Farm, Family Life Insurance from 1969 until 1973. He had a realtor license in PA and NY from 1969 until 1976 and worked as a rural mail carrier in the North East Post Office from 1970 until 1986. He was an active member and held many offices in the South Ripley and Ripley Grange for more than 60 years and was President of the South Ripley Cemetery Association for many years. He was a charter member of Ripley Hose Co. #2, Ripley, NY. Since his retirement from the post office, he spent time on the farm in South Ripley, winters in Zephyrhills, FL and for the past two years has resided in his home in North East. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, working in the apple orchards and gardens. He was a member of the South Ripley United Methodist Church and was active in the church throughout his life. Preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Norris Seeley, one sister, Genevieve Seeley and a granddaughter Amanda Stephens. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lois A. (Kalteis) Seeley whom he married May 29, 1947, four children, Rebecca Dorr and her husband Albert of North Tonawanda, NY, Kathleen Peck and her husband William of Panama, NY, Louann Stephens and her husband James of Williamsville, NY and Donald Seeley Jr. and his wife Theresa of North East and one sister, Eloise Mann and her husband James of Ripley, NY. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the W. Tad Bowers Funeral Home, Independent Care Group Affiliate, 92 S. Lake St., North East, PA on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and are invited to at- tend funeral services there on Thursday at 11 a.m. Rev. Les Drayer, pastor of South Ripley United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Community Nursing Services of North East Hospice, 7 Park St., North East, PA 16428 or South Ripley United Methodist Church, in care of Jerry Lowes, 5024 S. Ripley Rd., Ripley, NY
