Doris Adele Seeley
On the morning of Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, Doris Adele (Williams) Seeley of Canton Township passed away quietly at Endless Mountains Medical Center in Montrose, Pa. She was 90 years of age.
Born March 20, 1917 in Troy Township on her family's farm, she was the daughter of Guy Philip and Adele Irene (Rockwell) Williams. She graduated from Troy High School.
On Sept. 17, 1936, she was married to Lloyd Seeley. Together they raised two sons and two daughters and shared almost 44 years until Lloyd's passing in May of 1980.
Doris was a member of the Minnequa Grange, a former member of the Lady Canton Rebekkahs and an active member of the Republican Women of Bradford County.
Doris was a woman with a deep, abiding faith in the Lord and was a member of the Alba Christian Church.
She enjoyed her role as family matriarch and strode through life with style and grace. She was delighted with the celebration of her 90th birthday and the outpouring of love from the many people whose lives she touched.
Doris is survived by her son, Frederic (and Beverly) Seeley of Canton RR 2; daughters Mary Faith (and Richard) Van Noy of Etters, Pa., and Lucinda (and Glenn) Stone of Trinity, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Kay Seeley of Canton RR 2; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three honorary grandchildren; and two honorary great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family offers special thanks to Peg Hartford, Kenneth Brass and Nelle Calkins and too many more to mention.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; son Robert; niece Kathy Griffin; great-granddaughter Kaylyn; and sisters, Mary Eiffert and Faith Leonard.
The viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, at Morse & Kleese Funeral Home, 40 N. Center St., Canton. The funeral service will be at noon at the Alba Christian Church, Route 14 north of Canton, with the Rev. Tom Blackall officiating. Interment will follow in the Alba Cemetery.
