Broadalbin - Dorothy E. Seeley, 83, of Cayuga Ave., died Wednesday morning at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a brief illness.

She was born in Amsterdam on January 25, 1919, a daughter of John and Minnie Holt Miller and was educated in local schools. Mrs. Seeley resided in Amsterdam before moving to Broadalbin 25 years ago. She was a housewife and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Seeley was a member of the Northampton United Methodist Church at Fish House. She also was involved with the Galway Senior Citizens. At one time, Mrs. Seeley was very active with the Fish House Community Center and served as its president. She also was a former member of the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary and did volunteer work at its gift shop.

She was married to Ellis N. Seeley on December 4, 1937. He died on November 3, 2001.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Diana Seeley of Broadalbin; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and James Jordan of Ft. Johnson; a sister, Lillian Edwards, formerly of Northville and now residing in Gloversville; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home, Inc., 38 West Main Street, Broadalbin, with the Rev. Brad Broyles officiating. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Burial will take place at the Northampton Cemetery.
