Dorothy Josephine Seeley, 83, of Salisbury, NC formerly of Ashville, NY, died at 11:42 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in her daughter's home.

She was an area resident until September 1989 when she moved to North Carolina she was born in Ashville, May 16, 1925, the daughter of Leon and Lucile James.

She was the widow of Roger Seeley who she married August 21, 1943 in Jamestown, and died March 6, 2008.

Mrs. Seeley attended Ashville Elementary School and Lakewood High School. She attended Ashville Methodist Church, was a member of the Blockville W.S.C.S., and a former member of the Chautauqua Squares Dance Club and attended other area dance clubs.

She did wallpaper hanging in the area for many years and was a bookkeeper at Leon James and Sons and presently Tri-James Services for 20 years. She and her husband operated Fisher Stove Sales for 10 years on Button Valley Road.

Surviving are her daughter Joyce (Charlie) Miller of Salisbury, NC; 3 sons: Dennis (Denise) Seeley of Salisbury, NC, David W. (Karen) Seeley of Ashville, NY and Wayne (Marilyn) Seeley of Matthews, NC. 10 grandchildren: Troy Miller of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Todd (Angel) Miller of Charleston, IL, Brenda (Timothy) Whitmore of Kannapolis, NC, Kristyne (Michael) Whitmore, Lynn (Kari) Seeley, Geoffrey (Cassandra) Seeley, all of Ashville, NY, Michael (Kristin) Seeley of Bemus Point., Jennifer (Eric) Scolton of Matthews, NC, Julie Seeley of Charlotte, NC and Nicole Seeley of Salisbury, NC. 14 great grandchildren, 5 brothers: Alvin, Donald, Clyde and Lewis James all of Lakewood, and Leroy James of Seffner, FL.

She was preceded in death by a brother Walter M. James in1969, a sister Phyllis Barton in1998, her mother Lucile in 2006 and her father Leon James in 2003.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Clifford Hill, visitation pastor at Praise Fellowship, Russell, PA, will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Sunday in the funeral home.
