The Rev. Earl E. Seeley, 88

BERKLEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- The Rev. Earl E. Seeley, 88, of Berkley Springs, W.Va., entered into the arms of the Lord surrounded by his loving family at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va., on Wednesday evening, Dec. 22, 2010.

Born on Dec. 11, 1922, in Homesdale, Pa., he was the son of the late Gaston and Pearl Minor-Seeley. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the European and African Campaigns with both the 101st Airborne and 17th Airborne, U.S. Army being honorably discharged on Jan. 1, 1946. He was honored with many medals during his service to our country.

Earl was a Minister for 55 years and served as a Pastor, Evangelist, and Bishop of the Christian Fellowship Association. He began his ministry by bringing the word of God to migrant workers and continued to share his love for Christ throughout his life and to all that knew him.

His enjoyments included hunting and fishing and bluegrass gospel music.

Besides his first wife, Dorothy (Collins) Seeley of 61 years, who passed away in 2004, one son, Gaston William Seeley, who passed away in 2007, also predeceased him. Earl is survived by his wife, Marie Stotler-Seeley of five years; sons, Earl R. Seeley Sr. of Oakland, and Edwin C. Seeley and wife Katy of Warrensburg, N.Y., daughters, Mary and husband William Stuart of Otisfield, and Martha and husband Richard MacCormack of Sanford; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call upon the family on Thursday, Dec. 30, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at Augusta Armory, 179 Western Ave., Augusta. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at the Armory at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Terry Courtney, Pastor of Wells Mt. Zion Chapel, officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow the funeral services at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
