SEELEY, EDITH LYDIA - It is with sadness that we announce the death of Edith Lydia Seeley of Black River at her residence, on Thanksgiving Day, October 12, 2009. Edith was born June 9, 1913 in Black River the daughter of the late Kate and Frederick McLeod. Besides her parents she was predeceased by husband Donald B. Seeley in 1992 and brother F. George McLeod in 1985. Edith's early education was in Black River, later attending high school in St. Martins. She then went on to Teacher's College graduating in 1932. She taught in both New Brunswick and British Columbia where she lived for many years. Edith had many and varied interests, she loved to read and play Scrabble. Her time spent in Black River was very precious to her. She is survived by her sister Nellie McLeod of Black River as well as seven children, Warren (Sandra), Colin (Jean) and Joan of Black River, Lois Campbell (Sandy) of Port Credit, ON, Glen (Leslie) of Surrey, BC, Malcolm (Gloria) of Powell River, BC and Anne Judson (Travis) of Nanaimo, BC; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grand- children; sisters-in-law, Betty Osborne, Margaret Galbraith, Lenora Johnson and Bunny McCartney (John). By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in Black River at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424).
