SALISBURY CENTER - Edith M. Seeley, 78, of 343 Fairview Rd., Salisbury Center, passed away Friday, December 19, 2003, at Little Falls Hospital where she had been a patient since December 17, 2003.

She was born on February 1, 1925, in Johnson City, the daughter of the late Emory and Edith (Hitt) Burke. She was a graduate of South New Berlin High School.

She was united in marriage to her husband of 41 years, Marshall F. Seeley, on March 21, 1946, at the Universalist Church Parsonage, Dolgeville, by Rev. Moulton. Mr. Seeley predeceased her on November 24, 1987. Mrs. Seeley was employed for many years by the former P & K Dress Co., Little Falls, as a presser, retiring in 1972. She took great joy in her family and friends, thinking of others first. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and always kept the "cookie jar" full.

She is survived by two sons, Volney M. Seeley and his wife, Marion, and Ward E. Seeley and his wife, Maureen, both of Salisbury; two daughters, Martha Williams and her husband, Richard, of Dolgeville and Margaret Williams and her husband, Bernard, of Salisbury; a daughter-in-law, Sherrill Broat and her husband, Melvin, of Jordanville; her lifelong friend, Helen Dineen of Little Falls, her two special friends, Debra Taylor of Gloversville and Mary Mosher of Oppenheim; 18 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by two sons, Gordon E. Seeley, who died in 1968, and Terry Seeley, who died in 1972; a grandson, Gordon E. Seeley, who died on May 3, 2002; four brothers, Allie, Dennis, Robert and Christopher Burke; and by two sisters, Margaret Burke and Martha Saunders.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2003, at 10 a.m. from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann St., Little Falls, with the Rev. James Thomas officiating. Interment will take place in Salisbury Rural Cemetery, town of Salisbury, in the spring.

Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Sunday, December 21, 2003, from 2-5 p.m. and to attend the funeral services Monday morning.
