Publication Schenectady -- Eleanor M. McGuire Seeley, 86, passed peacefully into eternal life on February 5, 2006, in St .Clares Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late Margaret and John McGuire and was a lifelong resident of Schenectady. She was a graduate of St. Columba High School and worked in the accounting department at Ter Bush and Powell Insurance Company prior to her marriage to Tom Seeley, May 3, 1941. The Seeleys resided on Woodland Avenue in Schenectady for 52 years.

She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Teresa, by her older brother, Edward, and last month, by her sister, Anna Kexel.

Eleanor will be remembered by her family and friends for her gentleness, selflessness and spirit of hospitality. Her faith and her family were the center of her life. Proud of her Irish Catholic heritage, she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Josephs Church, where she prayed and worshipped. She celebrated the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren with great pride and supported them always with an unconditional love. She was acclaimed by her childrens spouses as the "worlds greatest mother-in-law." She enjoyed travel, especially to the ocean. Her time at the Congregation of Notre Dames summerhouse at "Quonnie," in Rhode Island, was a treasured time for family and friends.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 65 years, Thomas O. Seeley, residing at the Teresian House in Albany; nine children, Thomas (Florie) of Olive Branch, MS, James (Joan) of Ballston Lake, Mary of East Berne, Sr. Anne, Congregation of Notre Dame of Staten Island, Frank (Linda Bragg) Wittman, AZ, Joseph (Louise) of Clifton Park, Margaret "Lea" (Mike) Bosquez of Ballston Lake, Elizabeth (Dennis Gary) of Malta, Catherine (Mark) Torpey of Tucson, AZ; 1 3 grandchildren; six great--grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a brother- in- law and sister-in-law, George and Carol Seeley and a sister-in- law, Joan Seeley of Schenectady.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Baptist Home and St. Clares Hospital for the kindnesses and care they extended.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Thursday morning at 9:45 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 730 Union Street, Schenectady and at 10:30 at St. Josephs Church, State St. and Lafayette St., where a Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Schenectady.
