ELLEN K. SEELEY, RETIRED TEACHER AUG. 16, 1938 -- AUG. 21, 2004

Ellen K. Seeley, a retired teacher, died Saturday in Lockport Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was 66.

Born in Lockport, she graduated from the Barker Central School District and in 1959 received a bachelor's degree in education from Brockport State College.

After teaching at Emmet Belknap Junior High School in Lockport for three years, Mrs. Seeley spent the next 16 years at home raising her family.

In 1978, she resumed her teaching career at Thomas Marks Elementary School in Wilson, where she once received the Teacher of the Year award.

Mrs. Seeley retired in 2001.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and devoted many extra hours to her students and school-related activities. In addition, Mrs. Seeley enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques and membership in the Delphic Circle.

Also, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Wilson.

Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Eugene F.; two daughters, Cynthia Kiely of Ransomville and Mary Kay Koziol of Olcott; two sons, Kevin and Michael, both of Wilson; a brother, John Keough of Appleton; and 11 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 359 Lake St., Wilson. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson.
