Erma Elizabeth Lintz Seeley, 91, of Portsmouth, passed away at Southern Ohio Medical Center, Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007.

She was born in Powellsville, July 13, 1916, to the late Daniel and Christine Elizabeth Rase Oakes. Erma was a member of First Lutheran Church and its church council, a very talented seamstress, the manager of the former Jones Restaurant, and a 1934 graduate of Green High School, where she played basketball for three years.

Her first husband, Ralph Earl Lintz, whom she married in Portsmouth, Sept. 2, 1938, in Lexington, preceded Erma in death, May 1, 1978. She also was preceded in death, Feb. 11, 1998, by her second husband, Amos Seeley, whom she married in Waverly on Nov. 4, 1994.

She is survived by two sons, David Ralph ( Ella) Lintz of South Shore, and Richard Kenneth ( Judy) Lintz of Lakeland, Fla.; one daughter, Carolyn Christine ( David) Deemer of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren, Shaunda Nickel, Andria Dalton, Debi Morrow, Amy Taylor, Richard S. Lintz, Angela Davis, Jeff Deemer and Michelle Deemer, who also was her faithful caregiver; 17 great- grandchildren; and three great- great- grandchildren.

Also preceding Erma in death were her brothers, Forrest " Bud" Oakes and Donald Oakes; and one sister, Dorothy " Dottie" Oakes.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday at 10 a. m. at Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth, with the Rev. O. Franklin Johnson officiating with interment in the Lucasville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p. m. and from 9 a. m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
