Erwin Clayton Seeley, 85, of Fort Myers formerly of Lehigh Acres died April 11, 2006. He was born in Detroit, MI, a son of the late Robert L. and Clara A. Seeley. Clayton attended Columbia University and received his bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees from there. He was an educator and taught in many countries overseas and became a foreign service officer serving in the U.S.A.I.D. for twenty years retiring in 1986, he received recognition from President Ronald Reagan for his many years of service in the Department of Foreign Service. He moved to Lehigh Acres from Virginia in 1994. Clayton was a member of Fort Myers, Estero, Caloosahatchee Chorus, Lehigh Senior Citizens Center, A.A.R.P., member of N.A.R.F., he enjoyed volunteering for Hope Hospice, he was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Lehigh Acres and was in the choir, his passion was music through out his life and was only matched by his dedication to serving humanity.

Mr. Seeley is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Sandra "Sandie" and John Guerrero, Jr., of Fort Myers Beach, Susan and Bob Derse' of Seattle, Wa., his son Clayton Seeley of Brazil, his son and daughter-in-law Donald "Don" and Li Seeley of VA, his brother Robert D. Seeley of VA, his sister Bethany Klug of Oviedo, FL, his 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret Ruth in 1997.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be conducted in Calussa Harbor Chapel, 2525 East First St., Fort Myers on Friday at 2 PM.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
