Floyd Martin Seeley, age 60, slipped the surly bonds of Earth & touched the face of God on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls, following a valiant battle with cancer. Floyd was born on December 3, 1949, in Corning, NY, to Robert D. & Mary Elinor (Barnes) Seeley. He married Bonnie May (Chabot) Seeley on June 19, 1971, at Southside Baptist Church in Elmira, NY.

Floyd is survived by his beloved wife of 39½ years, Bonnie, three sons: Aaron & his wife, Terry (Naylor), Seeley, with their precious sons, Ryland & Alden, of Lebanon, TN; Nathaniel "Peter" Seeley & his life partner, Keven Collins, of Bradford, PA; & Benjamin & his wife, Paula (Sur) Seeley, of Corning. Also surviving are Floyd's sister, Deborah E. Seeley, of Corning, & several brothers- & sisters-in-law: Bruce, Jr., "Mickey" Chabot, of Lakeland, FL; Brent & Karin (Ward) Chabot, of Russellville, KY; Walter & Becky (Chabot) Iddings, of Groton, NY, & their sons, Bret & Sean; Charles & Betty Lou (Chabot) Smolos, of Painted Post, with son, Corey & Jessi (Warham) Benkelmann, daughter, Jessica (Benkelmann) & Shey Eckberg, & son, Jacob Smolos. Floyd is also survived by father-in-law, Bruce Chabot, Sr., of Toledo OH, & paternal aunt, Mary Lou Seeley (Stanley) Reeves of DeWitt, NY; & cousin, Patricia Reeves (James) Allen of Larchmont, NY.

Floyd was predeceased by his mother, Mary Elinor (Barnes/ Seeley) Campbell, his father, Robert D. Seeley, & his step-father, Ransford "R.O."/" Soup" Campbell, & his mother-in-law, Bessie (Reynolds) Chabot. Floyd graduated from Corning East High School in 1967, Corning Community College in 1970, & Elmira College in 1971, with a Bachelor's Degree in History/Secondary Education. He worked at ACI Supply, a Division of the Albee Truck Corporation for over 35 years.

Services will be held on what would have been Floyd's 61st birthday, Friday, December 3, 2010. Visitation & sharing will take place in the Odessa Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at the corner of Church Street & Maple Avenue in Odessa from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. that evening in the Church Sanctuary. The family is being assisted by Vedder & Scott Funeral Home in Montour Falls, NY Flowers are gratefully declined, but Memorial Contributions may be made to the Odessa Baptist Church Memorial Fund, the Dutton S. Peterson Memorial Library in Odessa, or the American Cancer Society in Floyd's name. Envelopes will be available at the visitation & services.
