George Allen Seeley, D.D.S. Naples, FL

Dr. George A. Seeley died June 21, 2010 at the age of 91. With his wife Peggy, he moved to Naples from Akron, OH, in October 1993. He was born in Oak Harbor in 1918, graduated from Miami University, Oxford, OH in 1941, served five years in the Army Medical Administrative Corps, three years of which were spent as captain and adjutant of 105th General Hospital.

Upon returning to the States in 1945, he married Margaret Fisher of Sharon Center, OH. Together they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in May of 2010.

In 1950 he graduated from the School of Dental Medicine, Case Western Reserve University and then served two years as a captain, Army Dental Corps in Germany with the 97th General Hospital during the Korean War.

In Akron he was a member of Portage Country Club, Akron City Club, University Club and Turkeyfoot Island Club. He was an avid traveler and gardener and enjoyed a life-long interest in architectural and historic preservation and served as president of "The Friends of Hower House" for three years.

In Naples he was a member of the Vineyards Country Club and was a director of the Naples Chapter of The English-Speaking Union for three years.

He leaves his wife, Margaret Fisher Seeley; his nieces, Dorothy Tait Fitzgerald, Anne Tait, Maryanne Sowder, and Pamela Votava; and his nephews, Thomas Peirce, George Bolte, and Charles Bolte.

A private family service will be held in Oak Harbor, OH at a later date.
