George Seeley, Sr.

George Seeley Sr., 66, long time resident of Canton Township, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 at the Troy Community Hospital.

George Edgar Seeley was born on July 4, 1940 at his family's home in Canton Township, a son of Rose (Walcheski) Seeley and the late H. Herman Seeley. After graduating from Canton High School with the class of 1958, George purchased a dairy farm in Canton Township that he operated for over 30 years. On January 27, 1962, he married the former Janice Frease. They were blessed with four sons and shared 45 wonderful years together. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Alba.

George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. A hardworking man, he liked to stay busy and enjoyed rebuilding tractors and snowmobiling.

In addition to his mother, Rose Seeley of Canton, George is survived by his wife Janice; three sons, George Jr. (Luann), Jack (Tina) and Allen (April) all of Canton; grandchildren Kayla, Korey, Josh, Mindy and Aleecia who will join the Seeley family soon. Also surviving are a sister, Linda (Robert) Griffin of Canton; a brother-in-law, Lawrence (Donna) Frease of Sayre and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a son, Scott Seeley in 1970.

His family invites friends to call 6–8 p.m. Friday at Pepper Funeral Home, Springbrook Drive, Canton. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jasper Smith and Rev. Jay Morris officiating. Burial will be in East Canton Cemetery.
