George Henry Seeley


MURPHYSBORO -- George Henry Seeley, 52, formerly of Cadillac, Mich., passed away at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, in Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

George was born May 26, 1958, in Cadillac, Mich., to Edward Seeley and Peggy (Ferguson) Seeley.

He served in the U.S. Army during the early 1970s. George was a small engine mechanic.

Mr. Seeley attended First Assembly of God in Murphysboro. On July 6, 2010, Mr. Seeley had been certified with World Christianship Ministries to serve as a preacher.

He loved music, motorcycles, fishing and hunting, but most of all, he loved his family.

He married Karen Mansikka on Oct. 28, 1994, in Lone Pine, Calif., and she survives.

Other survivors include five children, Amy Dwight and her husband, Josh Dwight, of Murphysboro, Thomas Seeley of St. Charles, Mich., Daphne Baase and Rick Cook, both of St. Charles, Mich., and Jeff Cook of Swartz Creek, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Edward Seeley Jr. and his wife, Sherry Seeley, of Cadillac, Mich.; one sister, Linda Seeley Ramacher of Evert, Mich.; and lots of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and his parents.

His body will be cremated and memorial services will be at a later date.
