Georgia Mae (Brashear) Seeley, daughter of the late Fred and Blanch (Hammock) Brashear was born July 25, 1940 in Winnipeg, Missouri. As a young girl, Georgia and her family moved to Swanton, Ohio where she grew up and attended high school.

On March 25, 1978, Georgia was united in marriage to William Wayne Seeley. They shared over 26 years of marriage together and nine children: Robin, Fred, William, Patricia, Twila, Heidi, Denise, Holly and Richard.

Georgia lived in Georgia for 24 years and while there worked as a cook at Ft. Gordon for six years. She also worked as a cook at a youth camp in Liberty Center, Ohio for a time and then moved back to the Waynesville/Laquey area in 1998. Georgia became a member of the Fairview Baptist Church and was a faithful member as long as her health permitted.

Georgia loved to work with her hands, especially crocheting gifts for family and friends. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower beds and watching her flowers grow. Most importantly, she treasured the times that she could spend with her family and friends.

Georgia went home to be with her Lord at 3:36 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004 in her home surrounded by her family. She had attained the age of 64 years.

Georgia will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her husband, Bill of the home; five daughters: Robin Webber of Laquey; Patricia Pitts of Grovetown, Ga.; Twila Crane of Terre Haute, Ind.; Heidi Pacheco of Saguache, Col.; and Denise Lucas of Augusta, Ga.; two sons: Fred Joy of Laquey and William Joy of Robertsdale, Ala.; three brothers: Robert Brashear of Swanton, Ohio; Bill Brashear of Laquey and Guy Brashear of Defiance, Ohio; four sisters: Frenchie Fisher of Defiance; June Pelton of Swanton; Lois Harmon of Potosi, and Chloe Cole of Ada, Ohio; 23 grandchildren: James, Jessica, Brandon, Brandon, Wes, Jake, Britton, Richard, Libby, Tim, Alex, Keith, Shannon, Chris, Billy, Becky, Monique, Brooke, Bruce, Michael, Mia, Katy and Davie; 2 great grandsons; 3 great granddaughters; special caregiver: Dorothy Meyer; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by one brother: James Brashear; one sister: Nettie Seel; one infant son: Richard Joy and one daughter: Holly Seeley.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Suggs officiating. Soloist Becky Lercher sang "What A Day That Will Be" and "Where The Roses Never Fade". The song "Live Like You Were Dying" was played. Serving as escorts were Earl Brandon, Rick Brashear, Warren Carney, Bob Evans, Dave Groshman, Stacy Lawson, Jim Phillips and Mike Wallace.

Burial followed in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
