Mrs. Gladys L. Seeley Daughter in Torrington

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. - Gladys L. Seeley, 93, of 63 Knickerbocker St., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Glendale Nursing Home after a brief illness.

She was born in Hadley, N.Y., daughter of Hiram and Cora Noyes, where she was a lifelong area resident.

She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, on June 22, 2001, and by two brothers, Max Noyes and George Noyes, two sisters, Vera Goodness and Mabel Dietze, and two sons-in-law, Donald Haddon and William Condie.

She and Charles were members of the National Campers and Hikers Association, and traveled extensively throughout the Eastern United States, camping and hiking in their pickup camper. Mrs. Seeley was a member of the Ballston Spa Methodist Church where she was active in the women's circles.

She is survived by a son, George (Margaret) Seeley of Malta; five daughters, Caroline Haddon of Colorado Springs, Colo., Roberta (Henry) McGhee of Torrington, Conn., Mabel Seeley of Ballston Spa, Laura Condie of Binghamton, Florence (Herbert) Hilder of Corinth; a sister, Doris Lee of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Seeley will be continuing to help others by participating in the Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical College.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Ballston Spa United Methodist Church.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

The family of Gladys Seeley would like to publicly thank the staff at the Glendale Nursing Home for their caring and conscientious care for Gladys during her brief stay there. They truly are great.
