Gladys L. Seeley, 92, of Ladysmith, formerly of Eau Claire and California, died Thursday, Jan. 27 2011, at Country Terrace of Wisconsin in Ladysmith.

She was born Aug. 7, 1918 in Gilmanton to Velma (Thames) and Leigh Myers.

Gladys married Joe R. Seeley on July 12, 1935. The couple resided in Eau Claire where they raised their children and made their home. Joe preceded her in death in 1974.

Not long after her husband’s death, Gladys moved to California. She spent many years there, where she enjoyed spending time in her flower garden and being with her animals. She moved back to Ladysmith in August 2010, to be near her family.

Survivors include two daughters, Dianne (Milo) Rude of Medical Lake, Wash., Debra (Gene) Zillmer of Ladysmith; ten grandchildren, Cindy (Tom) Seaver, Joe Seeley, Linda (Juan) Rojo, Daniel (Tami) Seeley, Todd (Jean) Seeley, Tami (Randy) Dekan, Stacy (Veronica) Rude, Jeffrey (Christine) Rude, Kelley (Josh) Stout, Trever (Joan Mayer) Zillmer; 21 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Daniel; a sister, Beulah Modl; a brother, Clifford Myers; a grandson, Craig Seeley; great-grandson, Jason Bishop; and special companion, Slats Seeley.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 1, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with grandson, Jeffrey Rude, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m., Monday, January 31 and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral chapel.

A funeral service for Gladys L. Seeley, 92, of Ladysmith was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls with her grandson, Jeffrey Rudem officiating. Music during the service was provided by organist, Barbara Sandford. Grandson, Stacy Rude, read the obituary and granddaughter, Kelley Stout read a poem during the service.

Interment was in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Casket bearers were: Zachary Dekan, Stacy Rude, Trever Zillmer, Boone, Todd, and Devon Seeley.

Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, is serving the Seeley family.
