Glen E. Seeley


Glen E. Seeley, age 74, of Eaton Rapids, died Wednesday, January 27, 1999 at a Lansing hospital. He was born October 17, 1924 in Cadillac, MI the son of John P. and Beulah (Olney) Seeley. Glen was raised in Manton, MI and graduated from Manton High School Class of 1944. Glen moved to Eaton Rapids and had worked for Burkholder’s Standard Station, he then owned and operated Glen’s Leonard Service Station on the north end of Eaton Rapids from 1957-1962. After 1962 he went to work for Eaton Farm Bureau in Charlotte as a Tankwagon driver, delivering fuel oil to many Eaton Rapids area customers. Glen also spent time working at farming.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Pat; 5 children; Michael (Rhea) Seeley of Grand Rapids, John (Linda) Seeley of Westminster, CA, Robert (Jody) Seeley of Grafton, VA, Sandy (Ruben) Mendoza of Lansing, and Shirley (Randy) Vetter of Big Rapids; 13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; 2 brothers, George (L.E.) Seeley of Coldwater and Bill (Jayne) Seeley of Canadian Lakes; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 30, from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Boles and Rev. Dennis Perkins officiating. Interment followed in the Oakwood Cemetery in Eaton Rapids. Honorary bearers were Max Converse, Lao Kunkel Sr., and Phillip Mendoza. Active bearers were Stan Black, Stan Bell, Ed Jecks, Ralph Allswede, Chad Seeley, and Jay Seeley. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to either the First Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the Skinner Funeral Home, Eaton Rapids.
