Publication Harold A. Seeley Maj. Ret. USAF At the age of 90 a long and wonderful life came to an end on May 18. Born in Camas, WA Jan. 22, 1921, he graduated from Weatherwax HS, Aberdeen, in 1939. An accomplished roller skater, he was active in sports throughout his life, especially baseball. Helped establish the Half Century Plus Slowpitch League in Pierce County. Played ball at Sprinker Recreation Center and Mesa, AZ until the age of 82. Joined the Army Air Corps in 1941, serving in the European Theater during WWII, and retired from the Air Force in 1961.

Married Shirley Wantland in 1947 while stationed in San Antonio, TX. They were avid square/round dancers with Swinging Squares Club, and were involved in the square dance community for 24 years. He was active in Boy Scout Troop 51 in Lakewood, coached and held office in the Pierce County Soccer program, and was instrumental in getting soccer added as a sport at Lakes High School in 1972. Retired from WA State DOT in 1986. Volunteered for many years at American Lake VA hospital's golf course.

Predeceased by his parents, brothers Robert and Donald, son Richard, and grandson Devin. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley, sons Art (Diane) and Bob (Janaya), daughters Ann (Dan) and Carol (Mike), grandchildren Erinn, Crystal, Jennifer, and Derek, brother LeRoy (Lois) Seeley of Longbranch, WA, sister Mildred Clifton of Bremerton, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A memorial service will be held June 4, 2011 at 2PM in the Celebration of Life Building, Mountain View Funeral Home, Lakewood. The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.
