H. Harry Seeley

H. Harry Seeley, 87, Gleneden Beach, Ore., died Nov. 1 at his residence.

Born June 28, 1915 in New Goshen (Vigo County), Ind., he was the son of Charles Burl and Dora Agnes (Judson) Seeley. He was the last of seven siblings whose lives spanned 100 years, 1902-2002.

On April 10, 1933 at Lafayette, he married Norma B. Williams, and she preceded him in death in 1992.

He was a member of the Greencastle High School basketball team that made it to the final game of the 1933 Indiana High School State Championship.

After working in the defense industry all during World War II , he owned the Indianapolis Star newspaper agency in Lafayette for many years. He and his wife moved to Southern California where he spent several years with the Orange Coast Daily Pilot newspapers in Costa Mesa.

Following retirement, he and his wife moved to San Clemente, Calif., and later to Lincoln City, Ore.

He was a 50-year Masonic lodge member.

Survivors include a son, Charles Thomas Seeley, Bloomington; a daughter, Patricia Kay Peterson, Lincoln City, Ore.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted Friday in Greencastle as a private family memorial.

Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home, Greencastle, is assisting in the arrangements.
