Jack Alvin Seeley


Jack A. Seeley, 75, of Boise passed away April 15, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Eagle Seventh-day Adventist Church, 538 W State St., Eagle. Services are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home.

Jack was born on July 5, 1934 in Sacramento, California to Oscar Alvin and Alice Margaret Seeley. He graduated from Pacific Union College in Northern California in 1957 and married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Fish. In the fall of 1957 he entered Loma Linda University School of Medicine, graduating in 1961.

After an internship in Seattle and surgery residency, he accepted a call to Seoul, Korea SDA Mission Hospital, followed by a three year tour as the general surgeon at the Bangkok SDA Hospital in Thailand. His special joy was to make trips into Northern Thailand by elephant to hold clinics for the tribal people. He returned to Loma Linda University to obtain his Masters in Public Health in 1973. Jack and his family moved to Boise in 1973 and set up his medical practice. He retired in 2001 after more than 30 years in practice.

Jack loved travel, photography, serving others and his Lord. He will be missed by his wife, Carolyn, his daughters, Caren and Kim, and his grandsons, Conor and Drake. Our faith is strong that we will meet again in the earth made new. Jack is survived by his wife, Carolyn Seeley of Boise, Idaho; his daughter, Caren Davis of Redding, California; his grandsons, Conor Russell and Drake Russell of Redding, California; and his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Steve Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jack was preceded in death by his son, Steven Jack Seeley.
