SEELEY, James Eugene - Of Grand Blanc, age 78, died Friday, October 20, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Monday, October 23, 2006 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road in Burton, Father Al Jorgensen officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of Wright Patterson Air Force Base Honor Guard. Visitation 4-8 Saturday and 1-8PM Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Seeley will be at the church from 10AM Monday until the time of the Mass. James was born in Flint, Michigan on October 22, 1927 and was a resident of the Flint area. He graduated from St. Michaels Catholic High School in Flint. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a radio operator. James married Cleo Murphy and they had 6 children. He played violin for the Flint Symphony Orchestra and also taught violin lessons. Mr. Seeley was employed by Buick Motor Division for 34 years. Surviving are children, Mike (Donna) Seeley, Mark Seeley, John Seeley, Jan (Brian) Sheroski and Paul (Jennifer) Seeley; grandchildren, Leah (Adam) Crawford, David McCall, Amanda McCall, Julie (Rocky) Palladino, James Seeley, Erika Sheroski, Emily Sheroski and Elaynah Sheroski; great-grandchildren, Kyle Smith, Meredith Smith, Alexandria Palladino and Mia Crawford; ex-wife, Cleo Seeley; mother-in-law, Doris Murphy; sisters, Joan Mick, Therese (Larry) Jorgensen, Phyllis Nash and Katherine (John) Beach; many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by father and mother, John and Jennie Seeley; daughter, Martha Seeley; brother, Jack; sisters, Carol Koziol and Patricia Goodwin; brother-in-law, John Mick and niece, Gwyn Thornburg. Special thank you to Doctors and nurses at McLaren Hospital, McLaren Hospice and also the staff and his friends at Venus Coney Island.
