James R. Seeley Sr.

James R. Seeley Sr., 73, of Plainfield, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.

He was born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident of the area.

He was employed by Iron Workers Union 444 for several years, retiring in 1990. He was a World War II and Korean War Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife Therese (nee Preboy); his parents, Martin and Gertrude (nee Klingloff) Seeley; brothers William and John; and sister Genevieve Hamilton.

He is survived by children James Jr. (wife Susan) of Joliet, Diane Wold of Plainfield, Robert (wife Kathy) of Lockport, Kathleen (Mrs. David) Reyment of Wilmington and Paula (Mrs. Frank) Ketz of Joliet; 10 grandchildren; brother Russell (wife Rose) of Lockport, Martin (wife Mary) and Raymond (wife Joan), both of New Lenox, and Pat (wife Esther) of Colorado; sisters Ann Schauland and Frances Davis, both of Lockport; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 2, at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church in Joliet.

Interment was at Ss. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery in Joliet.

O'Neil Funeral Home in Lockport handled the funeral arrangements.
