REED CITY - James Seeley of Reed City died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2003 at Metron of Big Rapids. He was 77.

He was born Sept. 11, 1925 in Midland County and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was employed for more than 40 years at Miller Industries and later at Tubelite in Reed City where he retired in 1989.

Mr. Seeley was a member of the United Methodist Church and a life member of the VFW Post in Reed City. He served on the Reed City Fire Department for more than 30 years and achieved the rank of assistant chief.

He married Eleanor Squires on May 19, 1944.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Carol (James) Brady of Pensacola, Fla.; granddaughters, Kami (Migeul) Ruiz of Littleton, Colo. and Christina Parker and Kathryn (Matthew) Nelson, all of Pensacola, Fla.; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Seeley was preceded in death by his daughter, Onieda Brooks, in 1992.

Services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City with Rev. Rick Blunt officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
