Photo NEWCASTLE – Funeral services for Osage resident Jane Ann Seeley, 54, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at the First Christian Church in Newcastle by Pastor Mick Bohn and Roy Glenn Julius.

She died Aug. 13, 2002, at her home, after a long illness.

She was born Aug. 4, 1948, in Hot Springs, S.D., the daughter of Arthur F. and Dorothy Fern (Dunham) Cheek; attended grade school in Osage; and graduated from Newcastle High School in 1966.

Church became a big part of her life and with her parents’ permission, was baptized at the age of 16.

She attended Casper College and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1970, with degrees in business administration and business education.

Following graduation, she married Vernon C. Seeley on Oct. 31, 1970, and moved to Florence, Ore., where he was stationed in the U.S. Coast Guard. There, she was employed for a time with the U.S. Forest Service as a GS-5 typist.

After her husband’s discharge, they returned to the Osage area. She was a substitute teacher in the Osage school for a few years, then began working as the secretary and librarian in 1987. She retired in 1999.

For several years, she attended the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Osage. In 1989, the family began attending the First Christian Church in Newcastle.

Survivors include her husband of Osage; three children, Matthew Carl, Paula Renee and David Michael; and brother, Rodney Cheek.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

The family would appreciate memorials to the Newcastle Christian Academy of Skull Creek Community Center.
