DOVER – Jesse Robert Seeley Jr., 57, of Varney Road, died unexpectedly on April 12, 2002, at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover.

He was born on May 2, 1944, in Jackson, Tenn., the son of Jesse and Virgie (Lee) Seeley. He has lived here since 1997, having lived previously in Somersworth, Eliot, Maine, and Chattanooga, Tenn.

Jesse was a technician at Tycom. From 1965 to 1974 he was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Very proud to serve his country, Jesse had served in Cuba and Vietnam. He earned many awards, including the Meritorious Service Cross. He was extremely proud of his nephew having joined the Marines recently.

Known as a very kind and generous man, Jesse’s family was the foremost important thing in his life. In his free time, Jesse enjoyed fishing.

Members of his family include his parents, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; his wife, Maryjane (Williams) Seeley of Dover; three daughters, Maryjane Bandach and her finance, Stan Jozen of Somersworth, Tracey Harper and her finance, Bradley Coleman of Springvale, Maine, and Aimee Jean Ricards and her husband, Donald F. Ricards of Rochester; two brothers, James Larry Seeley of Knoxville, Tenn., and Philip Lee Seeley of Chattanooga; a sister, Sharon Finnell of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Maryjane, Jeffrey, Michael, and Juliette; and a great-grandson, Tristen.

Relatives and friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. Services will be in the funeral home Wednesday, April 17, 2002, at 1 p.m.

Following in Jesse’s true Marine philosophy, instead of flowers, contributions are requested to the Toys for Tots Campaign.
