Joan C. Seeley Supervisor of the checklist for the town of Lee

LEE - Joan C. Seeley, 76, of Wadleigh Falls Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Exeter Hospital.

Born Feb. 19, 1931, in Haverhill, Mass., she was the daughter of George and Marjorie (Wilkie) Murphy and was a direct descendant of five Mayflower pilgrims. She had lived in Lee for 64 years.

Joan is survived by her husband of 58 years, J. Derek Seeley of Lee; four children, Doreen M. MacDonald and her husband, Rick, of Concord, John D. Seeley Jr. and his wife, Katherine, of Lee, Scott K. Seeley of Concord, and Brian C. Seeley and his wife, Stacey, of Puerto Rico; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a close cousin, Robert L. Keniston Jr. and his family of Lee; and many good friends.

She was a member of the Lee Church Congregational, chairwoman and supervisor of the checklist for the town of Lee for more than 20 years, past president of the Lee Women's Club, and a lifetime member of the Lee Historical Society and of the Martha's Vineyard, Barre, Hardwick and Petersham Historical Societies, of Massachusetts.

Joan was also a longtime salesperson for Avon. She was very interested in family genealogy. She loved her family very much and took great pleasure in the time she spent with them.

Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Lee Church Congregational, Mast Road in Lee.

Burial will be held at a later date at Lee Hill Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

LEE ; Joan C. Seeley, 76, of Wadleigh Falls Road, passed away Dec. 19, 2007. She was the wife of J. Derek Seeley of Lee.

A graveside service for Joan C. Seeley will be held on Saturday, June 7, at 11 a.m. in the Lee Hill Cemetery, Lee. Rev. Gail Kindberg will officiate. Family and friends are invited to attend.
