Joan Marie Seeley

Joan Marie Seeley, 78, of Martinsburg, went to her eternal reward with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 22, 2011.

She was born December 15, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She was the best wife and mother God ever created, our best friend and our teacher. Joan had a saints heart, always thinking of others with love and compassion.

She was a member of the WV For Life and an advocate for prolife.

Mrs. Seeley was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church and loved to work in the church and maintain the flower gardens. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard E. Seeley; son Richard Charles Seeley and wife, Candy, son James William Seeley; and one daughter Marjorie Seeley Moulton and husband, Michael Moulton; grandchildren, Teresa, Marie Schell, Jennifer Seeley, Kristine Howell, Elizabeth Borror, Jeremiah Seeley, Cynthia Moulton, Jacob Seeley, Jonathan Seeley, Luke Moulton, Jessica Seeley, Jacqueline Seeley, Joshua Seeley, Alexis Seeley and Michael C. Moulton; great-grandchildren, Shaun D. Schell, II, Chase Moulton, Remington Sites, Maddox Zdziera, Peyton Zdziera, Shelby Moulton, Anna Seeley, Cullen Ours, and Madalynn Ours; two sisters, Elizabeth Hood and husband, Samuel, of Coulterville, ILL, and Rosemary Miller, of Morton, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luke Charles Patterson and Dolores Schive Patterson; her son, David Eugene Seeley, and brothers, Charles Patterson and Gerald Patterson.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2011 at St. Leo Catholic Church with Father Brian Shoda, Celebrant. Graveside prayers will be said at Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 26th at Brown Funeral Home’s South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood.
