Joann Seeley, 77, Pomana, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at her home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church, Pomona.

She was born Sept. 7, 1930, at Jefferson City, Mo., to Joseph and Geraldine (McGuire) Bohannan.

She worked as a waitress.

She married Chester L. Seeley Sept. 30, 1959, at Denver, Colo. He survives.

Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Quenemo.

Friends may pay their respects from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Dena Joann Seeley was born on Sunday, September 7, 1930, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph and Geraldine (McGuire) Bohannan. From 1977 to 1983, Joann lived in Jefferson, South Dakota, moving to Pomona, in Franklin County, Kansas in 1983, where she made her home until her death on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at the age of seventy-seven years.

Joann was a loving wife and homemaker. She was also a waitress most of her life. From 1984 until 1989, she and her husband owned and operated the Dairy Bar in Pomona, Kansas. Joann was a very caring and outgoing lady who never knew a stranger. She greatly enjoyed visiting with her many friends.

Following retirement, she enjoyed watching her favorite television shows and caring for her beloved pets.

On September 30, 1959, Joann was united in marriage with Chester L. Seeley in Denver, Colorado. He survives of their home.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Assembly of God Church in Pomona at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2008.

IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Seeley at Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, where family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.

CEMETERY: Oak Hill Cemetery, Quenemo, Kansas.
