John F. Seeley, Former Moberly Engineer, Dies

Funeral services were conducted in Detroit, Mich., Sunday for John F. (Honest John) Seeley, former Wabash engineer here. Mr. Seeley died Friday at the Wabash Hospital in Peru, Ind., where he has been confined for the past 2 ˝ years following a stroke of paralysis, according to work received by friends here.

Mr. and Mrs. Seeley were former Moberly residents, starting their home together here and rearing a large family. They left here about 1900, when he was transferred to Detroit. He served two long terms as chairman or engineers on the Wabash system, “with credit to himself and the engineers,” according to a local friend. His nickname, “Honest John,” was a well deserved one, his friends assert.

Mrs. Seeley died at Detroit about six months ago and her funeral and burial were held without the husband’s knowledge because of his physical condition.
