J. Madison Seeley, father of Fire Chief William M. Seeley, died early today at the home of his son, R.F. Seeley, in the Town of Wallkill, after a long illness. Mr. Seeley was engaged in the milk business in Port Jervis twenty-six years. He also had been active in politics for half a century. He held the office of assessor six years and town clerk for fourteen years in the Town of Greenville.

Mr. Seeley was born in Greenville October fifteenth, 1858, and lived there all his life. Surviving relatives are the following children: William M. and I.D. Seeley of Middletown, A.M. Seeley of the Town of Greenville, Mrs. Mary L. Fenner of California, and R.F. Seeley of the Town of Wallkill. There also are ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the old homestead in the Town of Greenville Thursday at two o’clock with interment in the Seeley cemetery there.

SEELEY EXECUTOR

W.M. Seeley, fire chief here, has been appointed administrator of the estate of his father, John Madison Seeley, farmer and former town clerk of Greenville who died December eighteenth at the Mount Hope home of a second son, Reeves Seeley. Chief Seeley is the eldest of five surviving children.
