John M. Seeley


JOHN M. SEELEY, MARYVALE SCHOOL BOARD HEAD

John M. Seeley, a former president of the Maryvale School Board and a self-employed accountant, died last Friday (Dec. 6, 1996) at a nursing home here at 78.

Seeley, a resident of Cheektowaga before moving to New Mexico in 1964, served on the School Board from 1954 to 1961. He was president during the 1956-57 and 1960-61 school years, and was also a volunteer with the U-Crest Fire District.

Seeley was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and served in the Army during World War II. He was also president of the resident council at Albuquerque's Horizon Nursing Center.

He is survived by a brother, Bob of New York; a sister, Dorothy Abbey of California; four sons, David and Larry of Albuquerque, Jim of Florida, and John of New York; five daughters, Sharon Frias, Cheri King, Colleen Wall and Betty of Albuquerque, and Mary Lou Schwartzberg of New York; 28 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren
