John V. Seeley Jr., 56, of Lakeside died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Carl Hayden Veterans Medical Center in Phoenix. Mr. Seeley was born Nov. 18, 1951, in McNary, the son of John V. and Mitzie (Cruall) Seeley Sr.

He was raised at McNary until moving to Lakeside at age 4. He graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 1969. He worked at the mill in McNary before entering the U.S. Marine Corps. He suffered an injury on his 21st birthday which caused his permanent disability. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors, and when he was younger he liked drawing, racing and remote airplanes.

Survivors include four sisters, Theresa Wells of Mississippi, Patsy Walker of Colorado, Linda of Bullhead City and Mirtie Neff of Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joe.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, in the chapel of Black's Mortuary in Show Low. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
