Leone L. Seeley

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Bible Baptist Church for Leone L. Seeley, who died April 28 at her Elmwood Township home. She was 98.

Mrs. Seeley was born in Alden on Sept. 26, 1902, the daughter of James N. and Mary (Campbell) Lannin. On Dec. 25, 1923, she married Clayton J. Seeley.

After graduating from County Normal School in Kalkaska in 1920, she taught in one-room schools for three years. She was later one of the first students at Northwestern Michigan College, and graduated from Central Michigan College in 1959. She taught kindergarten at Norris School for many years prior to retirement.

She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and the Grand Traverse Area Retired School Personnel, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, macrame, ceramics and reading. The loves of her life were her kindergartners, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are daughters Wilma (Carl) Lemcool of Traverse City and Phylis Bozeman of Hudson, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Maria Seeley of Traverse City; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Bible Baptist Church or The Father Fred Foundation.
