SALINAS - Surrounded by her family, Linda R. Seeley, 64, passed away at home on July 13, 2011 after a brief battle with breast cancer. She was born June 14, 1947 in Oak Park, Illinois to Philip and Rose Balaine. She spent her childhood in Chicago and as an adult, raised her family in the Chicago suburbs where she worked as an office manager.

When she and her husband, Dr. Nizar "Nick" Yaqub, moved to California some 20 years ago, she managed the office of their medical practices and real estate developments in the Salinas/Monterey area. She and Nick also owned and operated the Inn at Del Monte Beach in Monterey.

Linda was a wonderful cook and loved having her family gather around the table for her special holiday meals. She also treasured her three grandchildren, and was present at each of their births. Ava, Cole and Stella will miss their grandma very much.

Linda is survived by her husband, Nick; son, David Seeley; daughter, Shannon and her husband, Fernando Giraldo and grandchildren, Ava, Cole and Stella; her sister, Deanna and her husband, Raymond; and many other family, friends and business associates who feel the loss of Linda's kind and gracious presence.
