Lorraine L. Seeley, 82, died Monday April 8, 2002, at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital.

Lorraine was born in Wausau on June 8, 1919, the daughter of the late Theodore and Aurora (Luedtke) Pyke. She married Vernon Seeley on July 31, 1937. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1983.

The love of Lorraine’s life were her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed babysitting. She enjoyed her woods, gardening and raking her lawn, as well as fishing, baking and cooking. Lorraine was born again and a devoted follower at Peace United Church of Christ in Schofield. She also enjoyed dogs and other animals.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters, Shirley Meade, Schofield, Nancy (Jack) McCarthy, Tomahawk, and Sharon (Gene) Ziert, Redland, Calif.; her brothers, Donald (Marvel) Pyke, Wausau, and Theodore Pyke, Schofield; her sister, Delores Lewis, Schofield; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; and her sister, Lillian Dallman.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Peace United Church of Christ, Schofield. The Rev. James Laak will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 19, at Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, and will continue at 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
