MISHAWAKA - Margaret Seeley, 92, of Lantana, Florida, formerly of Mishawaka, passed away Saturday, October 2, 2010, in Florida. Margaret was born August 24, 1918, in Mishawaka, a daughter of the late Edmund and Zulma (Warniers) DeMaegd. She grew up in Mishawaka and married Howard L. Seeley on December 25, 1941. The couple made Mishawaka their home. Following the death of Howard in 1997, Margaret moved to Florida to be with her family. Margaret was an old-fashioned homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing. She found great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret's surviving family includes her daughter, Geraldine Lukens of Lantana, Florida; two brothers, Ray (Margaret) DeMaegd of Mishawaka and Julius (Lorna) DeMaegd of South Bend; two granddaughters, Dawn (Denvil) McCallum and Cara (James) Bullock; and seven great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by six brothers, Cyriel, Arthur, Henry, Leon, Omer and Floris DeMaegd; and three sisters, Mary Finn, Alice Hassan and Irene Smith. Friends and family may gather for visitation on Wednesday, October 13th, from 10 - 10:30 a.m. in Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to the Center for Hospice Care. Assistance with memorials is available in the funeral home.
