MARGARET SEELEY DAIRY FARMER

Margaret Seeley, 86, formerly of Black Lake, died Wednesday morning at United Helpers Nursing Home, Ogdensburg, where she had been a resident since June 2004.

Mrs. Seeley was a dairy farmer and a member of the United Methodist Church of Lisbon.

Born April 28, 1919, in Saskatchewan, daughter of Charles and Minnie Mary Peters, she attended Canadian schools.

She married Coleman H. Seeley on Sept. 1, 1934. They owned and operated a dairy farm on Black Lake Road until retiring. Mr. Seeley died March 3, 1994.

Surviving are nine daughters and six sons-in-law, Mary McMillian, Williamsburg, Ontario, Irene Greer, Doreen and Gordon Vanston, Joanne and Ron Shannon, all of Prescott, Ontario, Betty and Russ Casselman, and Gloria and Gary Whiteland, all of Brockville, Ontario, Pauline and Keith Armstrong, Hammond, Bonnie and Peter Bracy, St. Cloud, Fla., and Linda Seeley, Ogdensburg; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Joseph, and Ronald Seeley and Donna, all of Brockville, Brent and Janice, and Lee and Joanne, all of Ogdensburg; two sisters, Joyce Henry, Toronto, Ontario, and Shirley Alice, Brockville; a stepsister, Carol McLaughlin, Cardinal, Ontario; three brothers, Gordon Peters, Prescott, Gerald Peters, Toronto, and Ronald Peters, Cardinal; 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Ruth Brenno, died in 2002, a son, Gerald Edmond, died at the age of 15 months, and a brother, Donald Peters, died in 2003.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Frary Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. Stanley Vollmer officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Cemetery.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
